Commissioned by a big investor – TAKENAKA GMBH – we desiged a project for a production plant in Jawor by Wrocław that would manufacture photovoltaic batteries for plug-in hybrid passenger cars for a leading automotive brand. On an enormous site by the already existing engine factory, we built a 6-hectare plant containing a fully automatic, digitalised production line and social facilities. What emerged was a fully innovative object, not only in its technological aspect but also in its environmentally sustainable solutions. The Jawor factory is fully carbon neutral. The plant is powered entirely by renewable energy from a nearby wind farm in Taczalin. Heat is produced using 95% biomass and 5% natural gas.
