This distinctive house is located in one of the villages near Wroclaw, Smolec, in an area where traditional detached single-family housing prevails. The challenge resulting directly from the location was for us to design a minimalist, modern building, while preserving the classic form of a house with a gabled roof. Using a synthetic formal language, we created a simple structure composed of two blocks: a heavy, graphite-colored ground floor and a light, white monolithic upper floor. From the living room, the house fully opens up to the surroundings. Panoramic sliding windows expose an unobstructed view of the impressive garden, which has been further elevated to the upper floor by means of a green terrace. Thanks to this, the rooms located on the first floor also gained access to the garden. The building is equipped with a number of ecological solutions. There are photovoltaic panels on the roof slope, we used a recuperation system, and we took care of the best selection of materials in terms of parameters that increase the energy efficiency of the building.
